Growing up with food being a strong element in my life, was very influential with the path that I took. Sunday dinners were some of the precious moments I ever had. The feeling that I had from those family dinners, the people together, I just wanted to replicate that as many times as I possibly could. I became fascinated by food and its power. I started to cook professionally when I was 17 years old as a dishwasher and I just worked my way through the ranks. Andrew Hrushowy, Condo Expert.

I wanted to start a family and the food service industry can be very demanding, and so if you want to be successful you really have to sacrifice and commit. I wanted to take on a new challenge,I wanted to do something different with my life. The transition from food service to real estate was an interesting one. There’s so many aspects about a house that enrich the lives of the people inside. I just saw the real estate industry as being an excellent avenue for me to utilize the skills that I currently had. So many skills from the restaurant business I was able to transition into Real Estate.

When I was allowed to join The Condo Group Real Estate, reimagined as Island Realm Real Estate I was beyond ecstatic. It was a very great place for me to transition into and a place that was set up so that I could put my skills into play. They too are looking to improve their situation and the situation of those around them.

When you’re first meeting your potential clients, we’ll go to a place that I feel is unique in that area and it will invite a conversation. You learn a lot about these people just by talking about what they like to eat. I make it a point to know these little details about the neighbourhoods and little details about the areas that could impact that person’s experience over time.

I haven’t cooked professionally in over 7 years now. When I left the restaurant business, that was when my true passion for cooking came back to me. One of the best things I can do is to share my passion for food with my clients. Something food service related is the perfect ice breaker and for people to come together on one level.
